Well, what a year it has been! The winners from the Nottingham Castle Open 2013 have been busy too, Andrew Bracey is been busy preparing for his solo exhibition, Wayne Burrows (aka Robert Holcombe) has been gathering the attention of Art Review, Nick Mobbs will soon start his residency at One Thoresby Street, Dermot Punnett's solo show at Tarpey Gallery is going down a storm, and we are looking forward to Liam Aitken's solo show at SYSON from Thursday 27th March.

Applications for the Nottingham Castle Open 2014 will be published later on in the year, around late Summer, so keep an eye on our Facebook and Twitter accounts (including this website) for further announcements - or join our mailing list to be notified of all of our forthcoming PVs, events and exhibition news.
Until then, our friends over at 'CARNIVAL OF MONSTERS' have published details for their own Open-submission exhibition, and like ours, there is no entry fee to apply!
Further details can be found on their website, http://www.carnivalofmonsters.co.uk/ or via their advert below:
Call out to all Artists!
Applications are open to exhibit at a major annual contemporary art festival in Nottingham - The Carnival of Monsters Festival of Contemporary Art 2014.
We're opening at Bartons from October 11th - 25th. Applications are open for this year, so if you are an artist who would like to apply it promises to be very exciting exhibition.
Who are we looking for?
Some of the spaces at Bartons are huge, well suited to sculpture or monumental installations. We exhibited a full sized bus in 2012 and there was still plenty of space left. Site specific work would be welcomed, Bartons is a venue steeped in history and you only need to walk around it's many workshops to experience that. Installations that have an element of interactivity would be great, in the past we've had a mirrored room you could enter and feel as though you were suspended in space, an optical illusion installation by Emma Dexter involving sound, light installations and many more. We love to exhibit work from the East Midlands, all though not exclusively and so artists from further afield are very welcome to apply.
During the event there will also be events like the Big Draw for kids, Oxjam, a pop-up shop for those wishing to sell, 2 evening music events and literature.
The application form is here:
and the deadline is April the 25th.
